Poet At Large Reviews, Book, The Improbable Rise of Singularity Girl   Leave a comment

It is in a way funny that I should post a review of this book after fighting to remove a virus from my computer. A Virus that I am not completely sure is gone.  Maybe It was her. Just Maybe It was Helen Roderick and I have cut of her life line to her friend Kriti in India.  If it was her then she will find a way and the human race will live on.

In the book “The Improbable Rise of Singularity Girl” by Bryce Anderson the future of Humanity depends on a a doctorate student Named Helen Roderick who flash freezes her own brain so it can be reconstructed as a computer program.  The computer program evolves to be smarter and crazier. It even copies itself to becomes a computer virus.  She does this to survive and in the end to save humanity.  There are hard chapters to read because they are reminders of wars, but there is also satire and lots of hits at Pop Culture and Sci-Fi.  The book will leave you awed and in stitches.  Not for the Kiddies but a fun read if you can get past hard the reminders of 9/11.
