Poet At Large Reviews, Book, The Shack by William Paul Young   Leave a comment

While I was in the park the other day I heard friends talking about a controversial book.  I had not heard of this book before even though it has been on the New York Times Best Seller list for over a year.  I found myself intrigued by the novel and simply had to read it. “The Shack” by William Paul Young tells the story of a Man finding God again after the tragic death of his youngest daughter at the hands of a serial killer.  The way the story is told helps one to understand some of the concepts of God and Christianity that some people just don’t learn through most Organized Religions.  I don’t agree with everything in the book but most of it makes perfect sense.  I believe in a Loving God, not a Vengeful one and this book explains how completely God loves us.  I really recommend this book to those who wish to be uplifted and better understand what God’s love really means.  It does not have to fit perfectly with you faith for you to gain something from it.  For God gave us the ability to find his truth in everything if we just ask for his wisdom in prayer.
